      Overview of content:

      1: Practical assessments covering contents of A2 unit 4 and unit 5.

      Overview of assessment

      The laboratory skills are assessed through 4 different ways:
      Activity A: General practical competence
      Activity B: Qualitative observation [14 marks]
      Activity C: Quantitative observation [14 marks]
      Activity D: Preparation of a chemical [12 marks]

      Activity c & d can be taken together in a multi-stage experiment or separately.


      The total number of marks is 40.


      Grades A*–E are available.
